Public drunkenness, loud noise at night from house parties, lots of protests. I am looking for somewhere serene.

It’s very obvious that you’re looking to move to 1950 where there are no minorities and no liberals.

Sounds like OP wants to move to a small town in Vermont or Manchester by the Sea. You seem to forget that a lot of liberals live living in places just like OP describes. The Obamas moved to Martha’s Vineyard and the Clintons live in Westchester County. These are hardly racially or economically diverse places.

First, the Obamas don’t live in Martha’s Vineyard. They summer there.

Second, African Americans are close to 35 percent of population of Martha’s Vineyard in the summer.

The kind of place where people greet each other as they pass, there are annual town festivals or traditions, the architecture is charming, maybe historical, crime is so rare that many leave their doors unlocked, children roam reasonably "free range" without fear, etc.

1932 and try to be white.

Are you implying that there are no safe black neighborhoods?

You have to lock your doors in Williamsburg.

Really, OP, I think they would lock their doors in Mayberry in today’s world. It’s foolish not to.

Kilmarnock or Warsaw, VA. Perhaps. You’d have to go to Richmond for most things. Or 2+ hours back to DC.

The other direction, maybe warrenton.

Warrenton is not a small town.

OP, liberals are the ones who value this sort of community.

Remember the creepy Disney suburb Celebration? TV set perfect but still there was a family annihilator.

Oh brother. Sounds like she wants to move out of dc. Many people get sick of city living and move to the suburbs, OP. Maybe that's far enough away without moving to a small town. We lived near a metro station in the 'burbs and saw dear every morning, and heard owls at night and were 20 minutes away from all the sirens and mentally ill panhandlers.

She said she prefers conservative to moderate politics, doesn’t care much about diversity, and doesn’t want a college town because among other reasons she doesn’t like the protests. So no she has an agenda and you’re full of shit.
