No, the posters who are responding either come from different school systems (abroad, etc), or decided to teach cursive to their kids.

It's just another example of how public education has been dumbed-down for the masses and standards lowered.
Used to be difficult to graduate HS, with many kids never making it past their freshman year. 75+ years ago a HS education was more difficult that having a Masters degree these days.
