It is impossible to master difficult concepts in science, math, writing skills, etc in school day time only.

But, PP, if you’ve never taken these classes yourself I can understand that you wouldn’t know that.

Have an agreement that you can check their school email and monitor assignments (at least for us most assignments are in google classroom and notifications are in the mail).
The rest depends on how responsible and organized your kid is. Mine is neither so I keep tabs on his work.

Somewhat related, I’m completely cleaning and organizing my daughter’s room the weekend. Every drawer, closets, etc. scrubbed everything. She’s not great at organizing and the room got to the point that it was needed to simply exist clutter free. An absolute fresh start so that’s one thing that can be lifted from her mind.
