DH here: one of the reasons men tend to avoid going after women who are already partnered is that you never know which guy is crazy enough to do something extreme out of sexual jealousy. This doesn’t happen very often, of course, but at the margin there is some deterrent effect.
+1. Let's just look at real world evidence. Who is more likely to cause harm if their partners is approached?

More desirable men are, all else being equal, more likely to have a partner already. As the stigma of poaching such men has declined, there is more upside in pursuing such a man. This does not seem so hard to explain.

Let's call it safety checked and perhaps trained. I got three with no prior experience of being a couple. I saw why not later. Two masking ASD and thinking they are doing great masking it and third one had some childhood trauma. Blew up out of nowhere for no reason.

What kind if women do you know? I'd never go after a partnered man and I don't think any of my friends would either. I'm fairly certain they would be judged in our friend group. You need better quality friends.
