If you do end up going, make sure you get compression socks. My legs were so so swollen when in the air at 25 weeks for a long haul trip. Also extra leg room so you can try and put your feet up. It’s going to be really uncomfortable though. And like my OB warned: if anything happens up in the air, there’s absolutely nothing they can do for you.

Oh I agree. I don’t think she should go. But this person who thinks you can’t travel after 30 weeks in general is a bit much.
Where’s the discrepancy? You either think she can travel or can’t?

OP, you have a rare DCUM consensus. I wouldn’t take a 3 yo to watch a marathon under any circumstances. Your DH can bring a guy friend.

Does this trip sound like a bad idea? I’m thinking of seeing if a family member or our nanny can join for the weekend to help out, which initially seemed unnecessary but has been sounding like a better idea recently.
On a list of stupid things to do with a three year old and heavily pregnant this ranks near the top. Your DH is either an idiot or narcissist, or both, for even thinking this is a good idea

This is insane. Don't take this trip. That's a lot of travel and logistics and exhaustion for what will be at most 20 minutes at the finish line (waiting for him to cross assuming you track his progress and his taking some photos and recovery).
I've had two kids and lots of swelling. Like you, I traveled around 31w with DC1, and refused for DC2. I also took up long distance running in the past couple of years, and my family has only met me at the finish of two races (in one they ran the shorter distance).
Do not take this trip. You will resent your DH.
