Likely not relevant but I had an older RAV4 that got this smell with the AC on. Turned out it was mice nesting in the engine (they even made it up to the glove compartment - barf). Toyota never acknowledged the issue but it’s all over the forums.

There was a recall associated with this issue - I would call the dealer. I have a Rav4 and so does a friend and the friend had to deal with this and explained it all to me but I can't remember the details.

Is your car parked outside? On an incline? Maybe drain issues.

After you run AC and before you turn off car, do you leave the air on “fresh” or “recirculate”?

Does this happen to most cars with sunroofs? Never had a car with a sunroof but planning to purchase one that has one and it will be parked at an incline
