Yeah, really.
Go get a job where you can be shot by a six-year-old child, deal with angry parents, be paid very little, and constantly be attacked by the GOP.
The MAGA is having their way by running teachers out of the profession.
Oh, how ironic that the billionaire white pedophile males who love sex trafficking attack teachers.

Many Special Ed positions.
Are there any concerns that staff have heard a schools this summer?

Not because of the kids, but because of all the paperwork, meetings...angry administrators, angry parents/guardians...
Where I live they are not allowed to pay special ed teachers more due to union rules. Pay goes by seniority only. Sorry, but the special Ed teacher's job is infinitely harder than the art teacher's, and they should be compensated accordingly.
I am a MCPS special education teacher. It is the same where I live, MoCo.
I’ve dealt with it by not joining MCEA and redirecting what would have been valueless union fees to me at the stock market + securities instead.
My mindset would likely change if special educators were paid a supplement bonus similar to NCBT teachers or a revised pay schedule was implemented with levels (Sped Teacher I, II..etc).
Teachers can opt to not join the MCEA? I didn't know that.
