Absolutely do not bring up their work or contributions unless you are going to compliment them or describe your teamwork.

You need to give examples of what you did with concrete outcomes: I (or we) created X project which increased profits by X." Or whatever you do, but you need concrete examples.

You can't and should not explain feelings of why you are better or why you deserve it more.
