A mall. Air conditioning, white noise.

Yep, there are a bunch of Regus locations in Fairfax County and they are cheap if you don't get a dedicated office.

In my opinion, Regus always was better than WeWork.

$2k per year is cheap?

I pick up a drink from Panera every school day and sometimes on the way home too. I see the same people there every day.

Try your local town hall or similar building.

I was in a nice mall in a nice part of Barranquilla, Colombia in March an noticed they had a big corner of the upper level reserved for remote working and it seemed to be pretty busy. Never thought a mall would be a popular place to work from home but what do I know.

Where I live (not DMV) some of the museums have great public spaces for working.

+1 Seriously. They make it difficult to get a seat at busy places (like Tatte) and then give you death glares for daring to have a conversation over lunch with a friend; meanwhile they’ve finished their one cup of coffee hours ago. So obnoxious

Exactly!

Probably depends on the hospital. I've spent way too much time at VHC lately and have struggled to find quiet places to work and plug in.

+1 to "depends on the hospital." Children's in DC seems to have some setting in its WiFi that prevents emails from coming in or going out.
