Can you imagine planning and getting ready for a wedding on just hours of sleep? "I was totally fine" Yeah for maternity leave! Not for being a bride.

I was the matron of honor in my sister’s wedding 4 weeks after my due date. As it turned out, I delivered 7 weeks before the wedding. I’m very glad I had the extra 3 weeks to recover.

Good for you (and I mean it sincerely). I’ve had two c/s, one emergency after 14 hours of labor, the second scheduled. I was definitely *not* back on my feet easy in 4 weeks, let alone 2. Especially with my first, it probably took closer to 6 weeks to even be able to walk a flight of stairs without wincing in pain.

Sounds quite risky! I had a freakishly easy delivery and post partum with my second and could have done this no problem but with my first I was hospitalized at the time! You never know how it’s going to go. I guess they can’t reschedule due to deposits etc but my money is on it being a disaster.

How old is she?

I had my kid at 26 and was a bridesmaid when they were 4 weeks. I flew with them shortly after.

Was it easy? No. But it was fine...and I had support, so it was just kind of how I did what I wanted to do.

Would I do it again? God no. In retrospect, probably wouldn't take my 4 week old to a wedding, but we had our own table with my family and were careful.

I'd relax. She knows her risks and risk tolerance and levels of support. Which you do not seem to be much of a part of!

I was fine with my first but not with my second. It was a much harder recovery.

But more than that, waking up with night sweats and soaked with leaking milk. And not sleeping at all. I didn’t sleep at all during that time.

People saying MYOB aren’t women who have given birth or people who don’t like to gossip. I don’t know her, I’ll gossip with you!

I had 2 C-sections and the dress would have been my biggest concern. The mother-to-be is not bed bound, it will be fine.

Can you imagine being 3-4 weeks PP and doing this, let alone 4 weeks post-abdominal surgery?


Nope. I had to have an emergency c-section. I was still an exhausted mess 4 weeks later.

Hopefully things go well for her.
