No... I don't think ADHD is this extreme in terms of interpersonal dysfunction.

It sounds like borderline personality disorder but that could be from something as simple as untreated strep. Yes, I know people will attack that idea but it's true. Don't wait 20+ years for the science to make its way to the UrgentCare. Try to get a really deep, invasive strep test. Good luck, OP.

Subject: Young adult with autism- or is it something else?
I have found learning as much about DBT and especially the skills families can use greatly improved the dynamic between me and my maybe-BPD young adult. There are lots of podcasts, books, videos out there teaching those. My DC did a full DBT program which includes a parent skills class, but if you find DBT helpful, you may be able to take that component without your DS being in the full program.
