+1. My DC was crazy at that age. I wouldn’t have been able to have a conversation while my kid was playing. A screen gives the parents time to talk. Did you talk with the parents while the kids were playing?

This kid is putting in effort to avoid other kids. They may have a bigger problem than a phone use.

Why do you need to be quilted to spend 3 hours with your in laws ans have the cousins play together? My kid is admittedly around that age, never watches screens, but shy and would need other cousins to engage him if he never saw them before or sees them very infrequently (very close with cousins on my side)

Yes, our kids are 4 months apart and my 3 year old did everything at the playground.
