Read this a couple of weeks ago and then had this scenario - was running late and showed up 5 minutes early for my appt instead of 10-15 mins early. I had done the preregistration stuff online and had been to this office before. Sat in the waiting room for 20 minutes. saw the medical assistant, waited a few more minutes. Then the doctor said she didn't think I was coming and said we needed to be quick because her next appt was already there. Couldn't she have switched the times? Or the desk could have told me I was too late? I scheduled this appointment 4-5 months out. I'll be sure to be incredibly early for my next visit. If they want you there 20 minutes early, shouldn't that be your appt time?

I had a specialist that routinely kept me waiting an hour or more. Once was 25 minutes late due to road down to single lane and no available detour, and they told me I would need another day to come in.

We’re in a different area now and doctors send so many reminders it’s impossible to get the date/ time wrong.
