She arrested/suspended protesters who assaulted admin and caused a nightmare situation on campus and reeled the campus back into shape from excessive antisemitism. She invested a ton into sustained dialogue and Israel/palestine talks and resources on both sides.

She then doubled down that Pomona is a college for people of all backgrounds, across the world, and began the global Pomona campaign. Hate all you want, but she did nothing wrong.

How exactly do you know the next president will do "great"? They have not yet even identified a sucessor. Lots can go wrong in the wrong hands.

Pomona leadership has been problematic I agree.

Because CMC is at a healthy point, with a fanatic alumni base with amazing outcomes. They literally can find any alum in higher ed or really any reasonable figure who can lead an economics institution, and they will excel. There's no reason to fret as if the institution will collapse just because 1 guy isn't running it. It is a highly successful liberal arts colleges that feeds students into lucrative careers with very successful alumni. Williams doesn't burn when they get a new college, neither did Pomona, neither does any institution. It is on the right track, and the board of trustees has continued to make good decision.

President Starr has already made a lot of different moves than during the Palestine era and has continued to keep the student body informed, while attracting donors. I really don't see why anyone would be scared of the Claremont Colleges.

+1, Average US College president tenure is around 5.9 years. President Starr has been with Pomona since 2017, President Chodosh joined in 2013, prior to the current president Harvey Mudd had the same president from 2006-2023, Pitzer's last president stayed from 2016-2022. I doubt these concerns are valid.

This is a reasonable concern. CGU offers courses to the undergraduates at The Claremont Colleges.

+1, seems like this would shift the undergraduate benefits a lot if 5C students cannot take graduate courses.

My kid found plenty of courses to keep him busy at the 5Cs during his 4 years (took at least one class at each), and he never took a class at CGU.

No one has heard of Claremont Graduate U. It always seemed a bit like a scam to me. A colleague just get their "PhD" from CGU and it cost a lot but didn't teach them much or make them employable.
