My 14 DS got Invisalign and it has been no problem. No lost trays, great about wearing them and for sports I feel my better about him not getting a torn up mouth when contact happens.

No problems with Invisalign. So easy!

Mine did fine with it. Some trays did hurt more than others, and it ended up being something of an issue because you have to remove it to eat, and she wanted to forego food because of how much taking it off and on hurt.

My 7th grader go Invisalign recommended by Ghaffari in Vienna. No issues. Much better experience than my braces were as a kid.

This seems like a know your kid thing. Mine is still using the same water bottle I bought her in 3rd grade. She's never lost a coat or a sweatshirt or anything really. I'd have zero concerns about Invisalign and would choose it because she plays trumpet. Other kids? Totally depends.

It was a disaster for my ADHD middle schooler. She left them everywhere. Can’t tell you how many times we, her friends’ parents and their spouses school had to look through the trash to find them. Just get real braces.

Ours loves Invisalign. They are surprisingly very low pain compared to the wire braces. The child just had to know that the only time they come out is for eating, then they must go back in. The middle schooler is great with them. The appointments are like every 6-7 weeks instead of 4 weeks with metal braces. They give you like a box of 5 months of trays at a time. It’s going extraordinarily well with Invisalign.

DD12 got Invisalign at 11 and it's been easy. She is one of those rule-following, kind of uptight kids - obviously your kid may be different. But she hasn't lost a tray and she wears them consistently.
We got them (vs metal) to avoid interfering with her musical instrument.
I got metal braces as a teen and there's a permanent divot inside my lip where the wire always cut. I'm glad she has this option.

Pp. Btw— you always save the previous week’s tray just in case you lost a tray. This has never happened to us yet. They give you a case to set them in while you eat. The trays are only coming out during eating time. Then you pop them right back in. I wish they had these 30 years ago.

No problems with Invisalign here. We have not list any trays. They are fairly painless in comparison to the metal braces. They are gradually tweaking the teeth rather than ratcheting them painfully and aggressively once a month with an ever increasing tightening wire. They are very easy to get used to. They are simply amazing! If I wasn’t watching this take place, I’d be suspicious. These have been worth every penny for our kids so far. I had all of your concerns initially, but it has been great.

My tween has had two rounds. First one in fifth grade went perfectly. Lost maybe one or two trays. We’ve been trying to do round 2 for awhile and it’s a disaster. He’s in 7th.

Our 8 and 11 year old boys both are in Invisalign now. The 8 year old had more of a learning curve, but 3 months in it’s going smoothly. Our ortho is a close family friend and he said he’s seen many more issues with braces (eg things constantly breaking, the sports injuries mentioned above) than kids who just can’t handle the Invisalign.

My dd saw the same thing w/ lacrosse. The girls wear upper mouth guards, but she’s seen some gross stuff w/ lower braces. We opted for Invisalign for her and my middle son and no issues. I think my son lost one tray once. We did traditional braces for my oldest and had more issues. Once bc he was eating something he shouldn’t have, a bracket fell off. Several other times, they just came loose, so this meant multiple appts. He hated missing school, and Invisalign has way fewer appts bc our Ortho uses the grin app for in between w/ Invisalign. Invisalign and traditional braces are the same price at our Otho, but I feel like Invisalign should be cheaper as it did involve less appts. Finally, for my youngest, the dentist pointed out that Invisalign was great for her bc she occasionally would grind her teeth in the night, and Invisalign worked as a mouth guard and protected her teeth

Our middle schooler wears the Invisalign with no problems whatsoever. Each tray moves the teeth just slightly every week and there is never a big painful adjustment like the metal braces of yesteryear which get cranked up every 4 weeks by the wire. The Invisalign are simple to pop in and out before eating. I watch my elementary students handle this with ease. Even our autistic friend had no sensory problems with her Invisalign at age 10. All of these kids that we know were compliant patients and even shortened the expected time to wear them because of their due diligence.
