My son had to talk to coaches on the phone. He was so freaked out and we didn’t think about that being a skill he needed to learn.
We wrote a script for the 1st call.
After that we had home practice with grandparents and friends.

Guys, sometimes a voice phone call is the only practical option, even in 2025. Thanks to everyone with helpful suggestions.

I almost never talk on the phone, other than to call and make an appointment or do a similar errand like that. I'm 47.
