The only surprise to me is that it wasn’t higher but I guess it does take time for the tariff driven prices to take hold. But, a tariff today may be gone tomorrow as Trump has no strategy just knee jerks.

Frankly if he is appointed I really should convert as much cash as I can to EUR, but I am not going to because I don't have the energy to. But the devaluation of the USD will be severe.

The US actually managed to avoid a lot of the inflation other countries had. COVID and the stimulus bills caused a ton of inflation, but the US was landing the plane on taming inflation without a recession. Now we're looking at both raring their heada at the same time due to Trump's mismanagement and insane tariffs, which is the worst of both possible worlds.
It's really incredible how much people seem to forget who was president in 2020. And yes the inflation issues were worldwide. The US economy actually recovered more quickly and better than any other developed country.
