No. This totally depends on where the wedding is. We went to a wedding in a small town out west and were so overdressed for it. I wore a dress, my husband and sons wore suits. All the other men wore jeans and boots, with button down shirts or polos. The women wore a variety of things, to include jeans. Some parts of the country do indeed have very casual weddings.

Sundress for the women. Khakhi pants and button down for the men.

Tube top made out of a Confederate flag and Daisy Dukes is the only acceptable option here.

Skip the panties so that you can have fun with the spouse afterwards.

I keep thinking that - there are definitely chinos (or, say, seersucker pants) that are going to be MORE comfortable than jeans.

My dh does not think any sort of khaki or chino pants are comfortable. He prefers shorts and then jeans. Slacks are what he's forced to wear to work and he hates it.

Dress so that you look cute and appropriate. Sundress, comfy shoes, sunglasses (if in the daytime and outside), sunhat.

Maybe, lots of walking? I went to a wedding at a winery and the ceremony was outside on grass. (not fancy, more like a farm than elegance).
The reception was in a barn with a dirt floor and it was not a smooth dirt floor. They did have a wooden dance floor set up just outside.

I guess "rustic" would be the description. I think we were told to wear comfortable shoes. We did dress nicely--not quite cocktail attire. I wore low wedges and was grateful. Heels--even block heels-would have been awful.

I interpret this to mean to wear comfortable shoes and come prepared for cold or heat--likely outside.

It means you're going to be outside, wear comfortable shoes and dress in lightweight clothing (linen or a lightweight sundress for you, seersucker or linen for your date).

I looked up a call and it seems like there’s a lot of outdoor space? I would wear a very light fabric sleeveless dress and sandals.

For men, jeans are comfortable. Men still can't wear shorts.

Are you under the impression that the only thing other than jeans is shorts? Men can wear comfortable slacks or khakis. You know, pants that aren't jeans.

Exactly. There are lots of pants made of fabric other than denim. I’d be disappointed if my husband or son wore jeans to a wedding. It’s a question of giving respect to the occasion, and jeans do not do that.

I would interpret that as it's going to be hot.
