OP here. That picture shows two salmon filets, so probably 1/2 - 2/3 of a pound. I cooked a pound. It also shows broccoli but the broccoli is crammed together. As I said I made cubed salmon tossed in a dry rub- the idea is to get the salmon crispy on all sides so you wouldn’t want to have the cubes touching like the broccoli in that photo.

This is the recipe, for the PP who asked why cube the salmon: https://pinchofyum.com/air-fryer-salmon

My finished product didn’t look at all like the recipe photo, which does look crispy. Mine the spices melded together rub melded together into a yummy glaze but no crispy exterior (and yes I had blotted the extra moisture from the salmon and added the cornstarch and evoo like the recipe called for).

You can get things very crispy but its not recommended for breaded things that aren't already cooked. The coating can fly off.

We make "grilled" chicken, salmon and other meats in there - sausages, pork loin.

OP again.

I was picturing using the air fryer to make crispy roasted veggies, crispy skinned salmon, crispy breaded chicken and fish. For example, I love chicken schnitzel, but never want to pan fry, so I bake it in the oven and it never really gets crispy. I am hoping that it will be a good air fryer recipe!

I am surprised at how small the cooking basket is - I had done a lot of research and 6 qt seemed a good size since I am usually just cooking for 2, but it seems pretty small (especially given my schnitzel example, since the breasts get pounded out thin so enlarge in size).

The idea to use it to reheat crispy foods like fries and pizza makes sense, but I never eat those items as leftovers. This probably would have made more sense as a useful appliance in my house when I had kids living at home!
