Early August in DC is foul. There's a reason why Congress is always in recess and everyone who can, flees town.

Why would teams fly internationally for this no name tournament? Sounds like they were all invites but not committed.

SYC said "invited", they did not say attending.

Specifically, on Facebook they said:

Participating Clubs Include:
๐Ÿ”น Tottenham (England)
๐Ÿ”น NY Red Bulls (MLS)
๐Ÿ”น RB Leipzig (Germany)
๐Ÿ”น Orlando City (MLS)
๐Ÿ”น KAA Gent (Belgian Pro League)
๐Ÿ”น Chicago Fire (MLS)
๐Ÿ”น Philadelphia Union (MLS)
โ€ฆand many more!

SYC said top boys teams (Academies) from around the world have already confirmed attendance.

If true, the teams advertised should be some of the best in the world. If not true, it will be a big flop.

I found a guy's name deep in the website. He does not appear to be a soccer guy or a sports management guy. I wish him well and hope he doesn't lose his shirt (or fly teams here for a non-tournament.)

Because all those motels and hotels in boondocks Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina etc where many tournaments happen are Shangri-la 6-star

It is not going to happen. Look at the cancellation language- they get to keep 50% even if no game is ever played. The phone number on the registration leads to a defunct capital wealth number in VA and a mention to crypto.
There's no "about us" or any identifying info.
Scammers be scammin.
(PS, the schedule was supposed to be out 30 days in advance-- todayish), but registration is open until late July.
