Yep!
Pick a theme that most families have stuff already for.
Anything Disney, glow bracelets, patriotic colors, etc

I saw a Barbie theme a couple years back that looked fun. Minions was another fun one and also Star Wars on one of our friend’s teams.

I agree that you don’t want to have to spend crazy amounts of money on costumes each week. Some of the themes are really cool when you look at the team pictures though!

Ours usually does USA, olympics, tropical/luau/Hawaiian, superheroes, Halloween in July, etc. All the usual suspects.

But this year there was a meet that was... Cowboys and Indians. I didn't find out about it until the day after. Thank goodness it appears to not made it to social media or anything else.

I keep hoping I misheard or misunderstood, and maybe I did and it was just cowboys or the Wild West and some parents editorialized it to "cowboys and indians". We live in a large metro area with educated, progressive people and our pool membership is diverse and includes both actual Indian Americans and actual people of indigenous descent. It's insane that no one said anything before the meet happened!

Anyway, don't choose cowboys and indians as a theme, please.

Can't have Cowboys and Indians at the same meet, it would offend the Globalists.
