Neither of my boys change at the pool unless it is after morning practice and they need to go directly to school. Just tell your kid to dry off and put on shorts/sweats/pj pants over his suit and change at home. Yes the pants get wet, but they dry quickly.

If your kid prefers jammers, tell him to wear those. If kids ask, he can say that the jammers are more comfortable for him or whatever. I know my kids wouldn’t care at all what another boy wore.

The underlying issue may be that his teammates are farther along in puberty and therefore stronger and faster. My oldest didn’t get fast until he was a junior in hs. If your kid your kid going to the gym and lifting on top of swimming? That is key to success, especially for the long thin boys.

My 16 yo swims year-round, 5-6x a week, and he wears jammers, as do many of the other teen boys on his team. Not sure why you feel entitled to make such sweeping declarations about what “all” and “none” of the swimmers do.

Must not be a serious team.

Tech suits are jammer length, not the same as regular jammers. The teen year round swimmers I know where speedos or tech suits. No one wears regular jammers.

Most kids we know wear regular jammers, except maybe meets. Mine wear regular jammers. I'm not buying tech suits.

This is a real thing and important for him to know, even if that's not the root cause.

But yeah, changing in a locker room is a weird thing at that age.

No, ours mostly wear jammers. Very rare to see a brief.

Yes, but the cut doesn't seem to be issue to OP's son so much as the material

This sounds fake. He doesn’t need to change there or can wear jammers.
