Agree. You don’t have to say anything at all but the feedback could be helpful.

It’s no one’s fault parking isn’t free. That’s how the world works. If it’s no longer accessible for you due that it’s ok though!

It’s really your call. Either approach is fine.

Wow this is news to me. I didn’t know people told stylists they were leaving. I guess I could see that if it was a long time relationship. I’ve been cycling through stylists trying to find the right fit. Some I saw for maybe 3-4 visits. But if something goes wrong I just find a new salon. This literally just happened. Old stylist I’d seen maybe three times gave me a BAD haircut. Sometimes they work really hard when you’re new then let it slide unfortunately

I've thought about leaving my current hairstylist because her schedule and location have become harder to work with. She's 30 min away and that's been fine for Saturday haircuts, but now she doesn't work Sat. anymore. I don't feel like burning leave for a haircut.

It's a business so I wouldn't feel bad about ghosting unless it's been a long-term or special situation of some kind.

I'm going to, now that I feel the cost has well outpaced the quality. $100 for touchups that don't leave my hairline roots properly covered, $200+ for basic touchup, trim and blowout, resulting in hair I don't feel good about wearing out after. Just not worth it anymore.

This is where I’m at except my stylist charges a few dollars more. Add in a tip and the parking at her new studio and I’m just really feeling like I can’t justify it. I go every 4 weeks for roots and a week later they’re visible. It’s frustrating because for our HHI it’s a huge splurge. However, when I priced up other stylists they’re just as expensive so I don’t think she’s overcharging but rather I can’t afford it these days and need to start coloring at home. Yes, I know the horror stories but I did it a decade ago and it looked fine. I’m just not sure I’ll be able to cover the back of my head well. I love my stylist as a person and have been with her for 15+ years so I wouldn’t ghost but let her know I need to move on.

I did write a note to one stylist I had been seeing for 14 years. I hadn't known the last visit was the last until I got home, washed my hair and saw the awful vut he gave me, way shorter without asking me. I thanked him for the years and wished him well. Never heard back but I think it was appropriate in that case.

So many stylists don't know how to maintain a cut, so instead of a trim you get your hair lopped off. This is the #1 reason I dump a salon/stylist. The owners need to educate their stylists to listen to the clients because I'm not going to just stop using that stylist - I'm not going back to that salon.

I have good thick wavy hair that looks great shoulder length. It's easier to maintain at that length. One male stylist I saw for too long thought all moms of my age should have a bob. He ignored my input every time. I started going in less often to let my hair grow out and he complained about that. The last time he gave me a short shag hair cut and that was it.

During covid I went for a few years without a cut. I had been through some horrible stuff during that time and was just recovering. I found a stylist I had used years before who I loved at a new salon. I let her know what I had been through and told her I just wanted my hair shaped up a little and only agreed to 1" off. I had long hair below my shoulders. She chopped off my hair in the worst cut I've ever had in my life. The manager at the salon knew she'd done a horrible job and walked up front with me and told me she could fix it if I wasn't happy. How are going to fix missing hair?
