It's not a waste of money if you're an insurance company. It is their business and they want to know where to get out and that's what they do.

Not to mention the army and the navy. Climate change is definitely on their radar in terms of its impact on military strategy and infrastructure.

You do know that anthropogenic (Google the meaning of the word) climate change accelerated significantly with the Industrial Revolution (Google that term as well for historical context). We have been contributing more CO2 emissions into the atmosphere since then not to mention all of the other human-made contaminants we are releasing into the environment.
