I'm new to Wegman's. Which cake are people taking about? I don't see a lot of cakes at Wegmans (vs, WF that has a full case of them)

If I do a test, what do you want me to test? Chocolate? Or white? Or what? Giant, Harris Teeter, Wegman's, Safeway? Let's leave Costco out of this, that is a whole other thing.

Wegman’s, and I’ve tried them all!

Oh gosh yes, do this. Also I really don’t know why people think chocolate cake with chocolate frosting would have dye in it. I would think white cake with white frosting would be ok too but not as sure. We have gotten white cake with white frosting and shavings for of white chocolate from Safeway for my DD’s many years (she loves white chocolate) and I think it’s pretty good if sweet. Doesn’t seem full of dye to me.

The frosting will send you into a diabetic coma is so surgery, but I love it. Reminds me of childhood.

What age range are you talking? If kids, maybe larger cupcakes. And/or if it's a bunch of parents of those kids or older adults, smaller cupcakes because people don't need to add more to their waistlines in the great US of A.

Yes there seems to be a thread about this every week. Where are you located? Don't forget local bakery options.

I think people missed that OP wants dye-free. That’s a challenge. Safeway, Giant and HT definitely have dyes. I think Wegmans might use natural dyes but I’m not sure. I personally like Whole Foods for natural dyes though some of their products are better than others.
