What’s your balance now? And how many years?

TSP fed here retiring this year. When I started I maxed out (what I don't get I don't miss) and put it in the C/stock fund. Finally started paying attention in anticipation of separating and shocked (in a good way) at the balance. Max out, invest in stock and let it ride.

This says nothing. How much was put in and how much is the growth? I invested $50k in 2020 and it has grown to $500k in growth stocks. I learned so much doing in on my own. I will not pay much in taxes as I file HH for years to come.
I will be bringing up the cost basis slowly for the next 10+ years. You got to learn to do it on your own and don't let taxes and fees eat into your money.
I also have two Roth accounts, but ca $80k tax free money every year in taxable account is quite awesome. Never had a 401k or any retirement offered at work. I wouldn't even do it for the match as my own returns are so much higher. You don't know what problems you will have with RMD later in life.
