Wait until OP hears about the Navy. Can't wait for the calls to dissolve the Navy.

This crap goes on in DOD too. Should we shut down that agency too?

Note: the government found the fraud and took care of it.

If the system was broken in places, fix it, but don’t tear everything down and say you have done good. You committed a greater evil because you had the power to help people, had the medicine in hand and pulled it away from them at the last moment. THAT is evil at work.

What's evil is four people scamming for $550 million. Stop changing the subject. It's tacit rationalization.

Did you note that this went on for 10 years—-so during Trump’s first administration as well! Sounds like a bad apple that was rooted out. One example, that the Trump folks allowed to happen. I’m glad they were caught. It was illegal and immoral. But it does not justify dismantling the entire program.

It was investigated in 2022. Under BIDEN. The OIG did its job, dipshit.

I”m not changing the subject at ALL.

Of course it is wrong to scam money. It is a BIGGER wrong to deny medicine to sick people in the name of catching a few fraudsters. THAT is the work of DOGE and very pertinent to the OPs post of finding fraud in USAID. The flip side is USAID AIDED people more often than fraudsters.
Getting rid of the good and NEVER RESTARTING THE GOOD while rooting out the bad is creating a bigger evil than the bad did.

What the fraudsters did is wrong, what DOGE/ stopping USAID is evil.

Fraudsters should be caught and punished while keeping the good parts of USAID.

This seems like common sense, but you are attacking over it. So gross.

You just have to scroll more on the Fox News articles. The headline often contradicts the truth of the article. The truth is, they found this out and cancelled a contract in Nov 2023. The company sued and the contract was reawarded.

“The joint venture then successfully sued the government over being put on that exclusion list and was re-awarded the contract and given a $10,000 payment in August 2024”.

And now,
In her letter, Loeffler said the USAID scandal "represents a collapse in the very safeguards that are supposed to protect American taxpayer dollars and ensure fair access for legitimate small businesses."

She slammed the Biden administration for awarding the $800 million contract to Vistant despite the business being labeled by USAID as lacking "honesty and integrity."

"The fact that a federal official was able to act as the linchpin of a persistent, large-scale fraud operation speaks to a failure in internal controls and a breakdown in the contracting environment that demands immediate correction," said Loeffler.

So, the company won the lawsuit and wasn’t on the exclusion list anymore and the government had to award the contract to them and somehow this is Biden fault? No.

Read the interview with the ex-Doge member who talked about they didnt really find fraud. How disappointed he was. We all know there are ways to make things more efficient/to reduce waste. But the fraud is not happening in the government. The fraud is people who try to take advantage of government programs and money. You know, like Elon Musk.
