Subject: Mixed-age free style relay - NVSL
Do other clubs do the mixed age and gender race at divisional relays? It is both genders and all the age groups.

No, but technically the second swimmer is 10 and under. So you can have a 7-8 swimming the 9-10 length if they are the fastest on the team. It's rare, but I've seen it happen
Correct. It’s not even called the “9-10 length”. It’s 10u. We had a family get upset at Relay Carnival because an 8 year old swam instead of their slower 10 year old. The 8 year old had a 50 time from a B-meet.

God no. Please don’t add mixed gender to NVSL.
Why? It could be a lot of fun! Swim it right after the mixed age relays and have a rule that swimmers in mixed age can’t swim mixed gender. They can have the same warm ups as mixed age and would only add another 5-10 minutes to the meet.
You are literally the unit person that wants this. Start your own league and do it. Have fun!
Dp. I think it sounds like fun. Get your team reps to propose a rule change to include it.
