I'm pretty sure that isn't true with most top SLACs still far more selective than virtually all SEC schools

9-11 through the recession was the baby boom.

It starts to dropp off after class of 2026 graduates.

I went to Pitt. As long as there would be a nighttime shuttle/safe ride (and I believe there is), the hotel location referenced is competitive/acceptable. It's at the edge of the business and residential neighborhood where many students live. 20 minutes walk would be normal for apartment-dwelling kids in Oakland. I think it's better than living in a study lounge with 3 other roommates. Which I did for two months long ago. We used to go to a movie theater near there regularly. It's not a pretty block but the Hampton room is likely bigger than a dorm and will have private bath.
