Modern vehicles don't use Freon either. Just call it "AC coolant" or the tech name/numbers if you take it to a shop. If they hear you say "freon" they will know they got a customer who can be overcharged.

Car is 9 years old. AC feels fine, even too cold at times, when leaving from garage in AM or PM. But never seems to get very cold if car has been sitting out in sun for a while.
how is your ac setting? recycled air or outside freshair? does it eventually get cooler after a few min?
I have tried both settings and "auto" climate as well. Seems to get a little cooler, but not significantly cooler, when it's been sitting in the hot sun. When starting from the garage when it isn't as hot, though, the air feels a lot colder.

Anonymous wrote:You can check that the fans in the very front of your car are spinning when you look under the hood. My Honda minivan has 2 fans and one was broken so it couldn’t cool on a hot day while at a standstill. It took me years to figure out the problem. The dealer failed to identify the problem during several visits.

The honest mechanics won't.
I chuckled. That's funny.
Any mechanics in present company excluded of course!![]()
That's too bad you have never found one but it doesn't mean they don't exist. We found ours through word of mouth.
