Plus one on the Project Hail Mary book. The book is being made into a movie that will come out next March. So you all can listen to the audiobook now, then when the movie comes out you can all watch the movie and compare notes regarding the book vs. the movie.

Washington Post review said that the problems Grace encounters could have been avoided with common sense and the use of checklists, which are widely used in spaceflight to reduce human error. I’ll skip the book and watch the movie because Rylan Gossling is in it.

+1 this is one of the all time best audiobooks. Interesting subject matter and thoughtfully handled but you’re going to laugh out loud early and often.

This is OP. Thanks for all the suggestions. While I’ve read a bunch of the suggested audiobooks, there are enough that I haven’t that sound like great options. Off to see which my library has to check out/ put on hold.

I might also look into radio dramas (lots of Agatha Christie ones, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings).

Robert Harris's Pompeii is a great audiobook. Andy Weir's books work well as audiobooks.

I thought "The husbands" was hilarious.
There is some sex in it though, so probably not appropriate to listen to with your teens.
