The school is safe enough for the students and other staff but not for your son? He's an adult, old enough to figure out a safe way of commuting. Your conjecture of danger, based on no actual knowledge of the neighborhood, is not helpful.

Men are victims of crime more than women. Why would you say he’s going to be safe because he’s a man? Doesn’t make sense.

Will he be the last one there and lock up at night?

And your thought are based on conjecture.

Most high ranking urban college campuses like U Chicago, Harvard, Yale, Hopkins, Rice etc are in urban areas where its not very safe to live but majority faces no issues.

I understand your concerns as a parent but as an adult he can listen to your advice and not follow it. No hard feelings. Agree to disagree. Yes, you'll have to follow consequences with him in case anything happens but that's your self imposed burden as a caring parent, he isn't asking you to carry it.
