Try Jcrew and the Jcrew factory brand.

Similar to the PP who mentioned better luck at outlets above, I find J. Crew Factory to be more classic in general than J. Crew, though you can find classics at both.

I suggest taking another look at Land’s End. They have more than the polos and shirts you mentioned - check out their dresses.

I can tell I'm getting older because now the ads for Talbots and Chicos are attracting my interest.

Halsbrook is good but it is limited on plus sizes.

Try Jcrew and the Jcrew factory brand.

I have better luck at Talbots Outlet than Talbots stores.

Also Ann Taylor Outlet vs. Ann Taylor stores

I mean significantly better luck. As in I've only bought one piece of clothing at Ann Taylorbusy.

My best brand fit used to be Kasper ASL but that brand barely exists anymore. They just make capsule collections for a few stores, like Macy's.

I am 55, 14-16P, busty. I can wear misses 14 as well, if the cut is correct.

I buy Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans. I found out about them as a repeated recommendation from internet threads bemoaning how crap women's fashion is. They are sold at Kohl's and Macy's. They are plain and that's fine. I hate shopping for varieties of jeans.

I would spend more money on clothes if the next level up was worth it. I don't like to spend more than $80 per piece except for dresses and jackets. My work has gone completely business casual.
