Sooo, after yesterday and today's storms, are we still thinking all this rain is normal? It certainly is not. And it is supposed to rain like this for the next ten days. Trees are falling nonstop.

The roads were so flooded on the beltway/270 about an hour ago that a firetruck sped by with an inflatable raft-- not kidding. There was a raft attached as if they were going to a scene with a river rescue.

I have not had to water the plants on my deck in weeks. One is so soiled that I suspect it may die soon from overwatering.

DC was never a swamp. Good god.

NP.

It hasn't been several weeks. It's been 2 solid months.

I agree. May and June have been unbearably wet and miserable.

In Florida-- not DC. This is not normal.

It’s been this way for the last 30 years I have lived here. It’s normal.

DC has always been a swampy hellhole in summer. At least since the 90s when I first moved here.

At nearly 6", we are far above the average rainfall for all of June already. This is not normal. Dry and wet patterns will alternate over years, but this is way above average rainfall for June. We are right to be miserable about it and over it. But then again, I have despised the gloomy horrible weather of this area for the 30 years I have lived here. It's not just afternoon summer showers. This is endless gloom.

It's been a normal amount.

I distinctly remember when I moved back here after college it felt like every day in June was rainy.

The dry pattern of the past couple summers has been abnormal. This might be wetter than normal but still closer to usual than the last couple years.

The weather has been terrible. Wet, damp, humid, rain. So much water.

No, anyone with a kid going to afternoon swim practice, or anyone who tries to fly in the afternoon knows that this has been a long time pattern.
