Yes. My time is more valuable than my money at this phase of life. I’d rather go once a week than two or three times even if it means I toss wilted veggies by the end of the week sometimes.

I buy a full cart from Lidl and fill in the rest I couldn’t find there from giant (so only a single bag usually).

Since I moved out of my parents home I've never once bought a full cart of groceries. I am only buying what I can carry, and I buy for a "family" of one person. Plus I live in walking distance of three grocery stores so buy different things at different places. Next time I'm at Trader Joe's I'll buy eggs and sea salt and chicken breasts, but I'll buy fruit, and milk at Whole Foods because they sell the size I want.

My sister who is married with two kids buys a full cart each weekend.

1. I do grocery delivery and am considerate of the delivery person, so I don’t get a lot in one order.

2. I shop in person at a bunch of places (Trader Joe’s, Asian market, Nepali market) and don’t need more than 10-12 things at a time.

3. Can’t get all I need at one store.

We mainly buy organic and top quality ingredients.

Food is heavily skewed towards vegetables, fruits, nuts, protein, dairy, poultry, different kinds of whole grains, lentils and seeds. No soda, no ultra processed products and no deli meats.

We’ve switched to buying full carts at Costco once a week rather than doing multiple smaller trips.

I’m buying more groceries now than I did before because we eat out less.

Still buy full carts every week. The key is that we’ve never wasted food, so I’m only buying what we need. We buy dinner out less now, so full cart is necessary to keep everyone fed.

Same. Things like toilet paper, cleaning supplies, either I order or dh gets at Costco together with meats, butter, so his cart gets full there. So when we go to the grocery store during the week or on the weekend weekend it’s mainly for produce, bread, milk/ yoghurt, deli. I don’t remember when was the last time I used the “large” cart, usually take the smaller sized ones.

I stopped when they decided I need to provide manual labor and scan my own groceries. My stores typically don't even have a real cashier unless you beg them to open a register and I'm over it.

Full cart at the commissary and at Costco because I only shop there every 4-6 weeks and tend to stock the freezer and pantry with non or less perishable food.

The trips to Giant, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods are much smaller and more frequent. But we have also gotten away from the "grocery shop once a week" idea that my mom used to do in the 90s. This is partially because we eat more fresh vegetables and cook from scratch more, and partially because it feels like less work to run in to a store on my way home from dropping a kid at a sports practice for a few things multiple times a week than it does to go shop for a whole week's menu for an hour or so all at once. In reality it probably adds up to the same amount of time, but I dread it less.

Two, I do a lot of stocking up on non-perishables at Costco and Sam’s. Nowadays if I go to HT, Giant or Safeway it’s just for what I need in the next 48 hours or what is on a really great sale.

I meant to add that I don’t think we are spending less by any means. In some ways, I’m finding it more difficult to track since there are more trips. But I am definitely throwing away less food that has gone bad.

Only at Costco.

I have never purchased a "full cart" at any grocery store, we get food from a variety of sources.

We are cutting back in any junk food, to basically zero, because it's too expensive now.

People buy full carts when and where the prices are “full-cart-good”

If you’re getting the lowest unit prices, at Costco, also, sometimes Walmart, then yes, bf cart.

If a 7oz bag of chips is now labeled “family size!” And costs 6.99, people are not filling the cart

I'm a full cart at the grocery store and a cull cart at Costco- so 2 carts per week. I have teens.
