I think it's unhygienic and honestly embarrassing to wear the nasty old hats, especially in public, but he couldn't care less. Baseball caps have a short lifespan before they get smelly (bacteria), sweat stains, faded and discolored, etc. It's only $20-30, so it's not a money-thing. I just don't get it.

You're husband shouldn't wear anything you don't want him to wear. Just throw out anything you don't want him to wear. Problem solved! Besides, he should understand that he needs to check with you before he decides to wear something.

Allow? How old are you?

Just wash them. FFS.

My husband has a yankees baseball fitted cap that is almost 10 years old and he still wears it. Unless we're going out on a date night I'll ask him to either not wear a hat or wear a newer one.

But I'll never forbid him. It's his head that wears a dirty hat not mine so what do I care.

I’m a wife and you couldn’t pry my 20 year old Redskins hat out of my hands. I wash it regularly and the fit is perfect

My husband wouldn’t wear them. Which is just 1!9( many reasons I married him.

Not cool.

Allow?

My DH must have 100 of them. It is annoying. I found a place to store them (actually a shoe rack but works great as a hat rack) and I just toss them there when he leaves them lying around.

I do not wash them or otherwise deal with them.

Put them on the top shelf of the dishwasher and wash them. They don’t lose their shape in the dishwasher.

Have you never heard of washing them?

Also, "allow your husband...." that's hilarious. You are headed to a divorce when he gets a younger easier going woman in his life.
