U of Cincinnati has good engineering programs and the oldest co-op program in US.

The ABET is in general engineering versus a specialty area. Could there by any issues with that for later employment?

See this is what’s so weird about engineering. I’m sure my kid has no hope of getting into Duke. But maybe Ohio State? Some of the lower ranked schools are actually way harder to get into!

Depends what you want to do with the degree. Some employers are more coveted than others. Better degrees open more doors.
