Every time I read a description on dcum of the steps curly haired folks undertake, it seems so labor intensive. I find it much easier to use an air dry creme (I like R+Co’s) and finish by blow drying. Then I just pull it back with a hair tie.

The occasional time I have gone through the curly girl steps, I still eventually wind up with frizz and need to pull it back with a hair tie.

+1 the curly girl methods seem so complicated! I have trouble just reading the instructions much less following them.

What does "dry with a tee shirt" mean?

Turn your head upside down and scrunch your wet curls with a dry t-shirt (or a microfiber towel). Regular towels causes frizz

1. Pattern hydrating shampoo and conditioner
2. Brush it out and use Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie as a leave-in conditioner on wet hair
3. Style with Umberto Gianni Curl Jelly (add to hair and scrunch while my hair is flipped down).
4. Dry with a diffuser

Someone mentioned Ouidad Climate Control - I've been adding as a last step to my scrunching on days like today and it does keep the frizz to a minimum.

Does the curl jelly lead to a wet, crunchy curl look?

It does, and then I kind of squeeze the curls and it turns into soft, non-crunchy curls. I’ve noticed that if I dry my hair completely before taking the crunch out, my curls last a really long time.

It is a heat protectant/anti-fizz treatment. Spray it on before you blow dry your hair and the heat activates it.

which one specifically? there seems to be a few..

Top tip is to use moisturizing shampoo/conditioner because frizz is caused by your hair seeking out moisture in the air. If you moisturize it yourself, it doesn't need to do that.

And I really like Colour Wow Dream Coat. I thought it couldn't be that good and then I tried it and it actually is that good.

+1 for dream coat
