The concept is that the worst thing a bear will do to you is kill you. Men keep women chained up in basements repeatedly raping and torturing them. Men are far more dangerous. It’s also easy to avoid all bears if you choose. You cannot say the same for dangerous men. You can assume all bears are dangerous, but if you dare do the same with men, the fragile little egos can’t handle it and call you names.

Judging by the sense of humor of people in my office, it means that people would choose the bear over having to deal with the training or the new timekeeping system.

I understand both contexts and still have no idea how it relates to timekeeping.

I think the point is that the bear is more likely to leave you alone (he/she is just living their life in the woods) than a man in the woods who is probably there to kill you.

The whole thing sounds like propaganda to keep women out of the woods and "in their place" in the workplace or home.
