If you want to do something a bit farther afield take a day trip to Bath and live out your day as if you were in a Jane Austen novel.

This. I lived in London many years ago and went on many London Walks. The guides were very engaging and knowledgeable.

I’d find a nice place for breakfast and then have a plan for some nice walks to look around and go shopping. Find a great spot for a nice lunch. More walking and shopping.

Yeah, don't come back, the UK is much safer than the US.

I think this person is recommending Londonwalks.

I like their offerings.

We enjoyed a tour of the Globe Theater as well.

To me, the tourist areas are pretty much like the Mall in DC and K Street and Metro. DC sensibilities should work fine.

Also Tea at Claridges and seeing the Tate Modern.

BTW, we were also across town. Allow 1 1/2 hours of car time during rush hour.

So much easier to just take the Tube everywhere! So easy and clean and wonderful.

Yeah not sure why anyone would consider driving through central London at rush hour, unless they had tons of bags with them or mobility issues.
