If I had to do it all over again, I would join Hamlet. It is my favorite pool to visit by far. When my kids were on swim team, Hamlet was the most welcoming too.

There is an indoor pool, indoor hot tub too, and exercise equipment, and the outdoor pool is heated and open throughout the winter. So, it is a 12 month membership. The price is higher than when we joined based on their capital plan to make improvements.
Don't forget the $2500 initiation fee. I disagree with the other poster that it's like a country club. It's no nicer than my other pool. The only plus is the indoor pool and really good snack shack.

I'm pretty sure most of them have an initiation or share fee. Our so. Alexandria pool/tennis club has a $1000 non-refundable initiation fee plus dues of almost $1000 for a family of 4. Renovations are definitely a thing right now given the 50-75 years some of these clubs have been around.

Same for Raleigh — so much more expensive than these prices for DC area pools

Have you heard of googling?
