Is anyone not outraged by that?!?!?

Honestly? No. Should we stop eating steak because some people hold the cow sacred?

“The ban - which mirrors a 2019 police order that barred dog walking in the capital, Tehran - has been extended to at least 18 other cities in the past week. Transporting dogs in vehicles has also been outlawed.
Dog ownership has been frowned upon in Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, with dogs viewed as "unclean" by authorities and a legacy of Western cultural influence.”

Is there any way to support pet-owners in Iran?

and another example of why Trump is right to stop travel with countries that follow Sharia law.

This is AWESOME! Imagine being able to take a nice walk and not be bothered by someone’s dog. You want a dog? Keep it at home!

That is inaccurate. There are differences of opinion regarding dogs in Islam and it is acceptable to keep them for specific purposes, including guarding houses or livestock.

There is no Judaic religious opposition to dogs either, just a general cultural aversion to anything that isn't prayer.

This^. Its not the animal but the 'owners' who can't clean the pee and the poop, can't vaccinate for rabies, can't train, take vicious breeds as pets and have them maul others.

Nobody judges dog 'owners' with empathy, common sense, training skills, responsibility, respect and resources to have pets.

You do realize pet culture is a first world luxury, right? Not everyone in the world can afford to adopt a pet and take them to vet and buy pet food. Sometimes these options arent even a thing.

The Muslim world is right about the superiority of cats. Cat purrs are super therapeutic and relaxing unlike a dog bark. You may as well have a kid.

Abrahamic religions are all the same. They worship human beings and denigrate anything related to nature. They even perform genital mutilation on humans to make them “clean” so there is no limit to what they will do to animals.

I'm a weirdo dog owner who has a little paw bath that I use each time my dog goes out when it's very muddy/rainy. I wipe his paws each time he goes out and comes back inside with antimicrobial paw wipes daily.

I mean, if he barfs and we don't get him away from it quickly enough, he'll eat it. He's not a pristine creature, but he sure is loveable.

I didn't notice the lack of dogs as pets by my Muslim friends until a few years ago. It dawned on me that of my 4 close Muslim friends, 0 had dogs and all had cats. That's when I did some research and learned that dogs were viewed as unclean.

Respecting others' viewpoints and beliefs needs to be brought to the forefront again. There are religions that view killing cows and eating beef as a huge sin, but they aren't waging campaigns against us, are they? We have to stay out of this.

Other than squeamishness eating barf is not unclean at all. It literally was produced by your own body and was in your mouth 2 seconds earlier.

Omnivores and carnivores are not clean, including humans. Their feces are loaded with bad bacteria that imperil waterways in high concentration. They spread disease more than herbivores. Cats are obligate carnivores and dogs are omnivores. Dogs are not more unhygienic than cats.

Ahem, my cats are hygienic. They like clean sheets, filtered water, and shiny steel food bowls. If they make a mess, which is rare, they try to clean it up with their little cat paws. If they weren’t cats, they’d be pacifist vegetarians.

Either way, how will the dogs of Iran take a walk?

Preach. This should be the law of the land, frankly.
