Yes because if you don’t buy health insurance and need services, you are driving up the costs for others. If everyone is insured the pool of risk is larger and costs should be controlled but because it is a for-profit system, insurance must pay large executive compensation packages and shareholders.

Thus, why illegal immigration has destroyed our healthcare system.

Illegal aliens get healthcare at the ER, don’t pay, and the healthcare systems raise prices on those of us that are insured.

Healthcare premiums were rising pre-ACA as well. Some indication is that the YoY increases have slowed since ACA.

I'm a republican and I'm good with the ACA. It's kind of nutty to tie health insurance to employment. Limits people's ability to start companies, do gig work, etc. ACA isn't perfect but I'm glad it was passed
