This decision does not impact anyone’s free speech.
Try to follow along:
AP refused to use the term “Gulf of America” when the POTUS told them to. Then POTUS used his official office to punish them for practicing their…wait for it….FREE SPEECH.
Follow along. AP can continue to report on the president and publish anything they want to publish. That’s free speech.
You don’t have the right to access the White House. Plenty of news outlets don’t. It’s by invitation. Your local news outlet can’t just waltz into the White House claiming free speech.

It actually does. SCOTUS said decades ago that free speech includes the right to hear. Plus press freedom has its own specific protection in the First Amendment. I'll probably look up this opinion, but seems to me they had to tie themselves into knots to reach it.

“A federal appeals court will allow the White House to exclude the Associated Press from access to the Oval Office, Mar-a-Lago and Air Force One if it chooses, according to a new court order in the ongoing legal battle over press access.
The decision hangs on a court finding that some White House spaces are not open to the broader public or large groups of press, and so the White House can choose which journalists it chooses to admit.
A lower court judge previously blocked the administration from excluding the Associated Press.“

Good. Time for others to have a turn.

Then let the AP back in and shut down Fox News and the other right-wing lie-vendors.
