My young adult daughter just met me in a European capital for a mom-daughter trip.
She got the job four days after college, and has already renewed her contract six months before it was due. She is excited to go on a trip with her mom. My DS and I will go to another capital in August, and he wants to go with his mom.
They do have other drama issues, but I'm glad they want to go on trips with me.

Keep it up! It's so heartwarming to hear some compliments, instead of complaints!

My 22 year old DS is getting ready to head to his full time job in a different city. He is kind, warm and compassionate. He still sits down to eat dinner with DH and I. He walks the dog w us and greets us with a bright smile every morning.

DD is away at a summer camp for 6 weeks in a different state. She calls and texts whenever she can. When she is too busy in the day, she would wrote notes down on her iPhone and share the doc w us. She, like her bro, is kind, warm and compassionate.

Both are super smart and study (or studied) at highly competitive institutions. While keeping their grades up, both are also athletes and musicians. They are hard working and disciplined. We are blessed with two wonderful kids and are proud of everything they have accomplished, hurdles they have made pass, friends they have made and the bright future they both will have. We are blessed to be part of their journeys. We simply love our kids to pieces.

My son just graduated from college magna cum laude, has a job he's excited about and a great group of friends. And, he wants to live in our neighborhood, looking for a rental house with friends. Makes my heart happy that he's doing so well and wants to stay close to us.

My daughter has struggled with college (ADHD) but was asked back for a second summer at her summer job. She's thriving working outside on natural resource conservation projects. So nice to see her confidence growing by being successful in work.

My DD11 is seemingly more secure and confident than I am. This school year has been filled with so much social drama, mean girl behavior, etc. due to a particularly large cohort in her grade. I have to admit it's getting to me a bit. But my DD is like somehow above it all. She just happily enjoys her kind and fun friends and generally doesn't give those folks a thought. She sticks up for herself and others beautifully and doesn't let hurtful comments hurt her or bring her down. It's so awesome to see. Like I said, she needs to give me a lesson or two.

My DD9 is one of the most incredible artists I’ve seen, even at her age. She’s tested in the 99th percentile for creativity. Her latest interest is collage, and she makes these beautiful collages that stand out among the other kids’. They aren’t just random pictures glued on paper, they have balance and meaning and cleverness.

Although whenever she finishes a piece, she happily destroys it by scribbling markers all over it or writing something like “mom go get me food NOW”. Breaks my heart but I’ve accepted destruction is just part of her creative process.

DS is already in 3rd grade but since he was a toddler I’ve been waiting for the other shoe to drop because I kept hearing stories from parents of slightly older kids, like “Oh just wait until age X! Then you’ll appreciate the now times!” “He’s cute now, but wait until 3!”

But still waiting on that shoe. He’s always eaten his food and not been picky. He’s slept well and doesn’t ever run into my room and insist he has to sleep with us. He loves activities and throws himself into them but is also cool to just flop onto the couch and read quietly for hours. He’s cute and charismatic.

Every age - terrible 2s, threenager, and so on - I’ve expected all these stages and they never came! I’m sure I’m in for an awakening by the time he hits middle school, but for now I feel like I won the kid lottery and am enjoying having a delightful, motivated, and loving kid.

My 7 year old son is so sweet and sensitive and has such great imagination. And he has that innocence that makes me want to smile and cry at the same time. It seems many people don't want kids these days but kids make this world so much better, and what a better world it would be if more adults were like my son.

She must be so proud! That’s awesome!

I hope she loves it as much as my kids have! It's been such a big part of their childhoods.

My daughter is the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen - and many people agree. But what’s even better is she’s more beautiful on the inside - she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and is supportive and kind to everyone she knows.

My son is one of the most likable people you will ever meet- he has so many friends and adults all adore him too. He’s sensitive and compassionate, hard working, and gets really good grades
