It either is not tiered or some teams have put their stronger teams in lower divisions. From our club, it is not tiered this year per USL Y. Whether accurate or not, not sure.

What I like about Super Y / USL / Summer Whatever league is that it's low-key and the kids have fun (but they're all kids who want to play soccer and put in the effort, unlike many rec teams). I would love to have the option of sending my kid outside to play pickup soccer but his teammates from fall/spring soccer are widely dispersed geographically and all the kids in the neighborhood are inside playing video games. So, we've done Super Y for fun many years. The games as usually scheduled early in the morning and not in the hottest part of the day. To each his own.

Enjoy sweltering on the sidelines at that "age group to watch". We'll be at the pool.
Same. We prioritize summer swim team, pool and beach time in the summer. Some half day soccer camp. It’s too hot in the afternoons especially on turf.
Every swimmer sucks at soccer
My soccer player sucks at swimming!
Yes it goes both ways
Not true at all. Athletic kids can do well in summer swim. It’s all short races. We aren’t talking about teens who are elite swimmers and spend a lot of time on it. There’s a difference between being “a swimmer” and someone who does summer swim team.
