Comfortably. Unlike you. I’m not going anywhere where 5 people have to share one bathroom.

Two boys, two girls or a boy and a girl? Are they experienced at sharing a bed? How tall are they? How much do they fight when they share a bed?
I have a boy and a girl and there is extra disagreement when they share a bed which makes the trip unpleasant for the parents. I would pack a sleeping bag and stick one kid on the floor. Or get the connecting rooms.

Not making my boy-girl super tall and lanky teens share a pullout sofa, sorry. Everyone would be so grumpy in the morning, it would make it unpleasant for ME.
If we have to stay on a hotel, we usually bring an inflatable, so one gets that and one gets the sofa bed. So they’re both at least moderately uncomfortable. But I have to admit, Airbnbs have spoiled my kids, because I can usually find a place where they both get their own bed, if not their own room. Our vacations are more pleasant if everyone gets space to decompress.

Lol. Full-sized beds were what many married couples slept on years ago.
Seriously. My 6'3" grandpa and average sized grandma shared a full size bed until they were in their 80s and my parents got them a queen. I wouldn't think twice about a sofa bed in this situation.

^ I just spent the night on a sofa bed with my 6 yo at a stay pineapple hotel after he had a bad dream. It was actually quite comfortable!

If the kids are small (less than 100 lbs each) I think it’s fine. You can let them know ahead of time so they know what to expect. One may prefer an air mattress in the floor which would be a reasonable compromise. You can pick up one that would work for the 9 yo for $10 (intex twin size.) If it is too bulky to bring back you can just toss it.

Kids have real problems that they need protection from and help with. When i was a kid, most vacations were spent in a tent, or with kids bedded down on a friend/family member's living room floor.
Honestly, it's good for kids to rough it a bit. It's not good for them to be so cosseted.

How did you do it? Oh my, you were so deprived. We have a house smaller than some hotel rooms and only one bathroom.

When they were teenagers? You really think two or three teens (or almost teens) can share a bed smaller than a queen?
