I don't think he is phony at all. I think he's very genuine and is super smart yet can communicate to others.

Did Harris mess up?
Is Walz an answer for 2028? He says he’s not necessarily running but wants to be there helping get the next Dem elected.
Thoughts? Anyone have a gift link to share here? I’m out

The governor says his party needs to be meaner.
"I'm getting called out on this because I called Donald Trump a wannabe dictator. It's because he is. It's because he is. 'Oh, the governor's being mean and the governor's speaking out on that.' Maybe it's time for us to be a little meaner. Maybe it's time for us to be a little more fierce," he said.

It's pretty obvious that Harris didn't want someone who would outshine her. I don't know how much of that can be attributed to her condensed, haphazard, short campaign after Biden withdrew.
I don't think Waltz is a Presidential pick, though. He has great side-kick energy and I think he could really help the 2028 candidate as the VP pick.
IMO, the Ossoff/Buttigieg ticket should be the Dems pick for 2028. More people need to be paying attention to Ossoff. He's a fantastic speaker, very charismatic, and can relate to the common people.
A Jewish guy and a gay guy? Too much. Pick one or the other.
✅Ossoff
I love Buttigieg. He’d be a great VP, but you may have a point (sadly).
I somewhat like Walz. Quite turned off by his mild Harris slap down. Don’t bite the hand that fed you vibes. He’s a no for me. Regardless, he’s not the ticket.

But, who would be his VP pick?
He was doing pretty well before the Democratic consultants got involved. After that the campaign seemed dorky and contrived.
Whoever runs, just let them run.
