Do you hear that ladies? You need "the right balance." Have enough "higher-end staples & a few designer outfits" to look impressive ... but that is it, do not spend any more money than that. Keep up appearances! But that is it!

This is one of those "nice guys" who wants a woman "who is beautiful but doesn't know it."

DH wants a hot-looking woman whom other men admire. My day-to-day style is very low-key - I wear light makeup and casual clothes in neutrals that aren't too fitted. DH encourages me to dress sexier and likes it when I wear more makeup. I was more into that in my twenties; now I want to be comfortable, unless we're going to an event.

My husband would hate it! He's very successful and the CEO of a well known company but he has no interest in being a bold face name or watching me spend everything he makes. Some of his counterparts have wives like that and it makes him cringe.

It depends on what type of laid back the husband is. Is he laid back or not too social by choice or out of necessity because he doesn’t have the social skills to be with the popular/ wealthy crowd? If it’s the latter, then yes, he’d love a woman who is a social climber because she’ll make things easy for him.
If he’s laid back by choice , then he would not be happy with such a woman.
