$8 is nuts for a fountain soda that is not at a movie theater, amusement park, stadium, etc. We know we're going to be price gouged at those places. Normal restaurants, bars, cafes, etc shouldn't be more than $5 (and hopefully less than that).

Now that you mention it-I don’t think i’ve ever seen soda prices on a menu either. We don’t ever order soda at restaurants but I remember when my kid had a parties at restaurants and some of the kids ordered sodas I think the most i’ve seen charged is $4.

No. Labor, rent, utilities, insurance, taxes, licenses, ice machine, the glass it’s served in. Restaurant biz is a grind. Far easier ways to get rich.

Beer would certainly be healthier than a soda, if was a real beer and not some adjunct junk.

It isn’t shown anywhere on the menu. I actually went online and looked at all their menus today, to see if maybe they had double charged me. I’m not super cheap - I didn’t blink at paying $15 for a cocktail - but I found this outrageous. We will not be going back.
